Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Hello, I have read other peoples discussions about this topic and solutions and it still didn't work. It is not opening up like the rubric is showing me. I am using a mac and im on textEdit and have selected plain text and html multiple times but it keeps adding "txt" at the end every time i save it. I have unselected where it states to add "txt" when saving, still not working. Any help?

Hmm.. well, did you try just renaming the file after you leave TextEdit by just taking off the .txt at the end? Try that and see if it works, ok? Let me know.
