Where is the custom objects tab on the main page and where do I find new?

Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Well, if you followed Step 1 and you clicked on Tabs on the left-hand vertical menu, then the main page area should have filled in with the Tabs page and there should be a New button in the middle in the Custom Object Tabs section as described in Step 2. If you're still not seeing that then take screencap and embed it here so I can see what you're seeing.
