When i go to click on the App launcher to click the marketing tab, i get a blank screen, nothing like the step describes.

Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Looks like either you lost the network, or a temporary glitch at Salesforce's end, or something weird is going on with your browser. We recommend Chrome and there are browser security settings given at the top of the Lab 1a cover sheet that are necessary for everything to work right.
If you're still having the problem now, try getting Chrome and making the needed setting and see if that helps.
