Hello, I created an account yet when I press the "Verify Account" button, it is taking me to a username and password setting. I never got the option to create a password so I do not have access to my account.

Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

When that happens, it can be caused by a special security feature implemented by the administrator of your email service. See, some services have a feature that open your incoming messages before you see them and it follows any embedded links to make sure they are not malicious. So when it accesses that Salesforce link, that counts as one access of that link.
Now to also be careful about security, Salesforce makes sure the link only works the first iime and then it expires. So the email checker, when it checks the embedded links, uses up the first & only execution of that link and it doesn't work properly anymore.
So you may need to use a different email address with a different email host - maybe just get a plain old Gmail account just for these labs and then get a new account using that address. Then you will have 2 accounts - just always be sure from now on.to use only this fresh new account you are getting. To be super=carefu. you can always click on the custom URL they put in the message where they are giving you the new account, ok?
