I made my account and followed all the instructions and got the verification email to log in on my phone. when I decided to start working on the assignment on my laptop I tried to sign in but it kept telling me to check my username and password so did and I was entering it correctly. So I tried to log in through the verification email and it still didn't work. I then decided to just make a new account. With my new account, I completed the lab up until the mobile app download. When I downloaded the app and attempted to log in I got the same message I was getting before even though I was entering the information correctly. So I just decided to skip that part and continue the lab on my laptop since I was still logged in. After I finished the lap and attempted to download the grader app I was prompted to log in again and once again I got the same message even though the info was corrected. Even when attempted to forget the password and reset it once I got back to the login page it wouldn't work. I'm not sure whats wrong, please help.

Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Ok, so try starting out with this URL:
https://login.salesforce.com/
and see if you can log into the newer account where you completed most of 1a. And if that's saying your credential don't work, try the "forgot password" option and see if you get the recovery email from them.
