Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Before you post make sure you check the Help FAQ for an instant solution first. Then, if you can't find it there, you can post your problem here and we'll get to it ASAP (within 24 hours), but be sure you:

Can not create an account

in Lab 1a

When I click the link under the install app (once) it takes me to a login page even though I haven't been given the chance to set anything up and the only option to creating an account I have is to do the 30 day free trial, but even when I try to do that it just says "oops something went wrong. I've tried using different browsers, and tried going to the salesforce site, but I gives me the something went wrong screen every time.

When I get to this page the only option it gives me is to start the free trail, which results in the something went wrong screen, or when i press the try for free it also goes to the start 30 free trail option. I just made a new gmail account and all the options were exactly the same.

No, you're supposed to follow the link Max gives you in Lab 1a (page 2) where she shows you what the form should look like and tells you exactly what to fill in for each form slot, etc. And she says to be sure you do NOT get the 30-day free trial. You need the Developer Edition. The 30-day free trial will NOT work for this.

Super-important to read through everything Max tell you and follow her instructions word-for-word throughout. Follow the link she gives on page 2, ok, and fill in what she tells you and it should be fine.

I think there may be a mistake with my professor no giving us all the links we need because the only thing I have under the assignment is the Max Labs Grader App Info page and not any instructions for the actual assignment.

Oh! That explains a lot!

Yeah, you should have started by reading Lab 0, the Pre-lab, which is the backstory that sets the stage for the rest. Then you should have gone to Lab 1a where Max explains how to get the account and then how you can follow the steps she did at her job to make the same stuff, including a mobile app!

Then you grade that work, using the grader app, and then you go on to Lab 1b, where Max shows you how she added stuff to the app she built in 1a, so you can too.

Yeah, you need those 3 pdfs, Lab 0 (Pre-lab), Lab 1a and Lab 1b. Later on, 2a, 2b, 3a and 3b. Maybe you can let him/her know and maybe let your classmates know via Discord or whatever? I'm getting a lot of questions today. Thx!

Whatever email system and/or client you are using is intervening by checking the Welcome message from Salesforce before you see it, as a security precaution. If you are using an email from the university or work, the admin has probably installed MS - SafeLinks and set it to check every link before it passes the message to you. When it checks that verification link in the email from Salesforce, it "uses up" the opportunity to set your pw by being the first to use that link. Then your pw is set and you don't even know what it is.

Try again with a different email, like a personal Gmail acccount that has no admin who is applying SafeLinks. And access your that email directly via the browser interface so that Outlook or your email client doesn't cause the same problem.

Try getting a brand new personal Gmail account, just for this, and only access it thru www.gmail.com and use a different username from the other accounts you got, ok? In SF, usernames can be anything that LOOKS like an email address, eg hippo@suitcase.sauce would work, assuming it's not already taken.
