Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

explain the problem clearly

I am very confused on how to backtrack on my work if I mess something up on a page. The lab directions do not do enough to explain things, and you would think it would be a bit more intuitive considering you can mess your data up by saving too quickly. I resorted to deleting all my work and restarting, which was very frustrating. Additionally, I am assuming I would run into the same problem if I just saved my work and decided to come back to it later.
Well, when you first run into a problem you should check the Help FAQ for a solution and if you don't find it there then you post here and I help you. As it says on the cover sheet of every lab, trying to redo everything is almost never the right solution and can make things worse. In your case you didn't delete all your work because it's telling you you already have an object named Pitch. So you still have that. Not sure what you deleted or why. What was your error message or problem that prompted all this? When you run into something, screencap it and post it here.
