Sorry you're stuck but there's almost always a pretty easy fix! Do NOT try to start all over again, eg. uninstall Max's Pitch Package, etc. That can make things worse.

Oh, sorry to hear that. Occasionally it happens that the reset emails don't come through due to spam filtering at the email service provider. Unfortunately, only Salesforce itself can reset that for you. I don't have that access. But since you are still on Lab 1a, there is the option of going back and getting a brand new account and starting over. Hopefully you wouldn't have gotten too far yet so you wouldn't have to repeat too much. And the part you already did can be repeated much faster now that you've done it once already.
The only caveat is that you will need to make a new username and you should always start your browser window with login.salesforce.com to log in to make sure your browser doesn't autofill the custom login URL of the old account. That would cause more login problems. It should be ok with the new account if you just be sure to always start with login.salesforce.com, ok?
Or you could try calling Salesforce support and asking them to reset it but since these are free accounts, Salesforce doesn't officially support them and they might not be that helpful. But sometimes it works if you want to give it a try
